People have always told Heather that she has healing hands. When she decided to make healing her occupation in 2015, she included the quote above on her massage-school application. Since then, the truth of it has been borne out in her work, and her appreciation of the importance of self healing and self care has deepened. Heather greatly enjoys the role she plays in that process—giving clients the space to learn how to heal and grow and helping them along their path.
Although she enjoys working with clients looking for a therapeutic session, relaxation, or a little bit of both, Heather's work generally tends toward the therapeutic side. She loves working with clients through specific issues like carpal tunnel or sciatic-nerve impingement so that they are no longer in ongoing pain and can just come in for fun "maintenance" sessions. Heather's treatments are client-centered, and she makes sure all clients feel comfortable communicating with her about issues, focus areas, and pressure levels. A quiet session allows the client to better observe what's going on in her body and become aware of imbalances, helping to prevent pain and injury. Heather enjoys incorporating connective-tissue work into her treatments because it allows for deeper work without the intensity of other modalities. If a client is interested, Heather will end the session with CranioSacral work, which allows for the unwinding of the cerebral spinal fluid and makes for a relaxing end to the treatment. Clients will always leave with a few good stretches to do at home! Born and raised in the desert, heather enjoys playing with her cats, listening to records, hiking, crossfit, and kundalini yoga in her free time. |
