"Monica has a great knowledge of the muscular system. She gets to the root of muscle tightness and pain. I haven't found a massage therapist as good her.”
After investing years in her career as an insurance and benefits specialist, Monica decided to make health--her own and others'--her focus. After looking into various fields, she fell in love with massage. She enrolled at the Cortiva Institute in Seattle, choosing the longer, 1,000-hour program to explore her interest in injury and clinical massage. These skills made her popular with athletes (CrossFitters, Olympic lifters, triathletes), firefighters, and clients with injuries in general.
Monica's work focuses on restoring function to the body after surgeries, minor injuries, and intense athletic exertion. She uses techniques that support the rehabilitation of soft tissue and address chronic-pain disorders. Her treatments usually incorporate deep-tissue massage and movement. Monica accepts Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Labor and Industry (L&I) claims with doctor referral.
Monica recently left Seattle to join her mother here in Tucson. "Everything in Tucson and the surrounding area is new to me, so I am always asking people I meet what I should go see, where to hike, and fun things to do. The great thing about moving to a new state is everything is new."
In her spare time, Monica and her husband indulge their shared passion for cooking. They enjoy making food from scratch, researching new recipes, trying new things, and feeding friends and family. They are big advocates of eating whole foods and buying from local growers and farmers. Monica loves doing CrossFit and yoga and walking her dog in the morning.
